Frequently asked questions

What should I expect?
The first session is a free initial Consultation to discuss the concern. I will gather some information and explain how the mind works in relation to the problem. Subsequent sessions will start with a discussion of progress made followed by about 30 minutes of hypnosis.

Could I reveal personal information under hypnosis?
Not if you don’t want to. Hypnotherapy is not the same as stage hypnosis and you are in full control of everything you do or say. During hypnosis you will not need to talk, all you have to do is relax.

Can anyone be hypnotised?
Most people can go into a trance, even a light one, which is sufficient for therapy to take place. Everyone can therefore benefit from hypnotherapy.

Can I get ‘stuck’ in hypnosis?
No, you are in complete control at all times so if, for example, the fire alarm rang you would be perfectly able to get up and walk out straight away without the need of the Hypnotherapist.

Is it safe?
Yes. No-one can be hypnotised against their will and even when in trance people can still reject any of the suggestions given if they are not appropriate. You will be in a safe environment and simply very relaxed.

How many sessions will it take?
The number of sessions required varies as it is dependent on the client’s problem, however this and the type of therapy will be assessed during the free initial consultation. See ‘fees’ page as a rough guide.
